Clean Your "Window"

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.“That laundry is not very clean,” she said. “She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.” Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments. About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice, clean wash on the line and said to her husband: “Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this.”The husband said, I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look. ~Author Unknown~ Sweet Reminder!

I don't know about you but I think "my window" needs to be cleaned. Last night I watched CSI and had a terrible nightmare. Once again proving garbage in garbage out. Why do I put myself through this? I am praying now that I can turn that TV off to "garbage like that". I know some can handle it, but obviously the Good LORD was showing me that I cannot!

I pray that we all "watch what we watch".

  4. Yikes! I hear this Anita. I used to be a huge horror movie/book fan. I had a friend that told me some day God would deal with me on that. Well He did in a big way. I was terrified after watching a movie, and since that day, I have not been able to watch or read that stuff. I'm relieved. And that was when I started reading Christian authors. Good in, bad not even in the picture...picture window! ha. Thanks for reaffirming this for me. Love you!
